  • MEXICAN AGRIBUSINESS GET SALES FOR 170 MILLION DOLLARS IN FRUIT LOGISTICA, GERMANY 2015



    Mexico City. February 17th, 2015.


    Is consolidated the success of strawberry, cranberry, raspberry and blackberry in Russian and German markets; the interest of the European market during the winter for organic products as mango, pineapple, banana, lemon and papaya.

    The certification of best practice efforts and safety programs of the producers with the cooperation of SAGARPA open the doors to Europe.


     

    The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA), through the General Coordination of Foreign Affairs, installed the Mexican Pavilion in the Fruit Logistica 2015 and Mexican agribusiness (52) reported sales for more than 170 million dollars.

     

    Through the program of Trade Promotion and Exports of the Agency of Marketing Services and Development of Agricultural Markets (ASERCA), the agribusiness that attended were from Michoacán, Morelos, Sonora, Veracruz, Colima, Puebla, Coahuila, Jalisco, Sinaloa, Mexico City, Yucatán, Chiapas, Tabasco, Nayarit, Estado de México and Aguascalientes.

     

    The sales in short and medium terms are 70 per cent more in relation with the participation in 2014.

     

    Were shown a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables as avocado, lemon, grapefruit, lime, banana, guava, mango, grapes, asparagus, carrot, broccoli, cranberry, blackberry, raspberry, strawberry, papaya, chili, celery, green bean, basil, mint, and chickpea, among others.

     

    Fruit Logistica 2015 is considered the specialized fair, the most important in fresh fruits and vegetables and took place in the past days in Berlin, Germany.

     

    After 10 years of consecutive participation in the Fruit Logistica, with the support of ASERCA, the Mexican producers have achieved a constantly increase in sales and have consolidated in the European market taking advantage of the winter season in that continent.

     

    On the other hand, the attendance of producers in this event, have allowed exploring a new logistical infrastructure of transportation for placing the product with competitive prices and reducing the time of transport.

     

    In the edition 2015, Fruit Logistica gathered 2 thousand 715 exhibitors and got 65 thousand visitors from 135 countries.

     

    The Mexican companies made more than 500 business appointments with importers, marketers and distributors of fresh products from different regions of the world.

     

    The opening of the Mexican Pavilion was performed by the Mexican ambassadress, Patricia Espinosa Cantellano, with the General Coordinator of Trade Promotion and Exports of ASERCA, Georgius Gotsis Fontes and the Minister Counselor of SAGARPA in Europe, Jorge Rueda Sousa.
