Agrícola Gotsis, AGSA, was founded in 1921 by Nick Gotsis Limberopulos. During the early years, crops were grown in various areas in Northwestern Mexico. AGSA from the very beginning harvested tomatoes and a variety of vegetables for export to the USA.

Our current location in Culiacán, Sinaloa was established during the 1950's.

The vegetable industry in the state of Sinaloa, specifically in the area of Culiacán, has become a major supplier of winter vegetables to the U.S. and Canada. Two-thirds of the vegetables consumed during the winter, November through April, are produced in Sinaloa. We have witnessed the technological developments from farming on the river banks, to the construction of large dams to irrigate via controlled canals divisions, to drip irrigation and now to greenhouse and hydroponics.

AGSA has participated in this development for over 85 years and continues to be a well established farming organization.

AGSA is currently in two farming regions: Culiacán and Los Mochis, Sinaloa. The third and fourth generations of the Gotsis family currently operate the farm.

Philosophy

A well balanced business philosophy is important and essential to our organization. We believe that AGSA employees are the drive behind the good results of our crops. It is important for AGSA to provide long term employment opportunities.

AGSA currently has personnel that has experienced over 30 seasons in all areas of our organization. In February 2006 and 2007 we were internationally recognized by the CEMEFI ( Mexican Philanthropic Center) as a Socially Responsible Company (ESR).

This means that during 2005 we were socially responsible with our labor, with our environment and with our company. Only 130 companies were given this award in Mexico. AGSA also became a member of the United Nations World Pact.

In addition, AGSA was recently awarded with the "Best Place to Work Mexico". Making AGSA the 70th best company to work in Mexico
Conserving a high quality product season after season is always a priority. This is achieved by using the latest techniques and technologies in production, packing and shipping. We also secure that our crops are produced under the highest levels of food safety.

We are currently being verified by Primus Labs, an independent third party food safety certifier.
