In 1950, “Grupo La Norteñita” established as a seed and fodder market in Cuauhtémoc, City. These activities lead the business to spread and initiate in livestock. In 1962 the company began this activity and continued on for more than 40 years.

History

In 1968 this organization entered into the fruit growing business, planting its first trees in golden delicious, red delicious and starkrimson varieties to then continue on with the plantations until today.

Nowadays “Grupo La Norteñita” has a surface of over 5,500 acres with a production of over 50,000 tons of apples a year, being the biggest company in the branch of production, market and packing in Mexico and placing itself in one of the first spots in Latin America thanks to the effort of thousands of families that daily contribute to the economical activities of northwest region of the state of Chihuahua, Mexico.

Grupo La Norteñita has been honored with the following awards and certifications given by civil organizations and government: Certification en Buenas Practicas Agricolas y Buenas Practicas de Manejo (Certification in well use of farming and handling), certification of the brand Mexico Calidad Suprema, Kosher certification directed towards the Jewish community and “Premio Nacional Agroalimentario” 2005 and 2008, being these the result of the commitment our company adquires for the guarantee we give our clients of a high quality product, manufactured under the highest rules of hygiene and security.

The main distribution centers of our product are the most important markets in the country located in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla among others, such as Wal-Mart de Mexico, Chedraui, Commercial Mexicana and Soriana.

Grupo La Norteñita is an organization with a high compromise on the life quality of its people, community and environment, it offers 1500 permanent jobs throughout the year and up to 6000 on harvest season, it brings its people services such as accommodations, nursery, food, transport, medical services, school for its workers giving them a better chance to improve their life level.

Our compromise with the environment is supported in lower damages to the atmosphere, the use and handling of water resources and soil improvements, for this reason we have adopted top technology that allows us to control these facts.
