About Us

The story of "Canned San Miguel" began in the year 1971, when Don Antonio Madrazo purchased three ranches dedicated to raising cattle in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. The idea of Don Antonio was working the land and itching to plant peaches and apples, which were sold in the fresh market. As another alternative for business and with the help of his son Patrick and his son's wife, Dona Rosa, began selling in the town of San Miguel bottles of pears, peaches and guavas in syrup. Two years later incorporated into their products jalapeno, serrano and chipotle.

1980

During this decade planted asparagus for export to Europe, they set up production lines to process and became its main export product; the company's marketed through importers and distributors. That same year, the group venturing into the export of products with private labels for supermarkets and specialty foods in the U.S. and Europe.

Canned San Miguel launches the brand "San Miguel" the domestic market, which soon became the most prestigious brand of specialty fruits and vegetables in Mexico.

During this period Canned San Miguel was consolidated as the leading producer in Latin America in the process of Artichokes and Red Peppers, achieving also widen its distribution in Mexico and in other countries, relying on two plant 10,000 square meters of which 7,000 were for production and 3,000 at the store, employing 700 people and 800 more indirectly, transforming more than 10,000 tons of fruits and vegetables a year.

Canned San Miguel Today...

The company has evolved from being producers to become Agroindustrales San Miguel Group, consisting of three divisions: San Miguel Fresh, Canned and San Miguel San Miguel Foods, the latter now stored, distributed and sold both brands of the group as a broad portfolio of brands in market exclusivity in Food Service, Retail, Club Stores, Convenience, among others.
