El Capricho Tequila ranks alongside the finest distilled spirits in the world. It is handcrafted from the best selection of Blue Agave plants grown in the rich volcanic soil of the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. El Capricho is made and bottled in Mexico.
The El Capricho range is double distilled and patiently aged in French white oak barrels helping to make it much softer and smoother than typical tequilas. It is master-blended, with no added artificial coloring, flavoring or preservatives.
Due to its great natural taste and production methods, El Capricho is the only one of its own class worldwide, known as "Elixir de Agave Tequila" and must possesses yearly certified batches (Vintages) on each bottle as the taste, color and aromas of each year will vary slightly. El Capricho 100% agave tequila do not have significant alcohol burn, and drinking them with salt and lime is likely to remove much of the flavor.
El Capricho is recommended to be drunk from a snifter glass, instead of a shot glass, and savored, instead of quickly gulped. In Mexico, tequila is mainly drunk straight. In some Mexican regions, fine tequilas like El Capricho is drunk with a side of sangrita (a sweet, sour and spicy drink typically made from orange juice, grenadine and chilies). Don Alberto Becherano established Tequilas de la Doña in 1997 in Mexico as part of a lifelong passion for the Blue Agave plant. Nestled high in Los Altos de Jalisco in Mexico, home of the Blue Agave plant, the Tequilas de la Doña team handcrafts 100% Blue Agave spirits in small batches to ensure superior quality. According to Mexican regulation, Tequila can legally be produced from only 51% Agave with 49% sugar cane added as a substitute, compromising the quality of the drinking experience.
Don Alberto is a Maestro Tequilero (Master Tequila Blender) in Mexico, with years of experience and oversees the entire production process: agave plant selection, cooking, milling, fermentation, distillation, ageing and bottling. In Addition Don Alberto is a member in the Mexican NOM board.
