  • SAGARPA PROMOTES AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS FROM CHIAPAS AND OAXACA


    Mexico City. September 29th, 2015.

    The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA) reported that a commercial mission of seven company purchasers related to the coffee industry from Germany, Spain and United Kingdom visits the states of Chiapas and Oaxaca for meeting the productive processes and to establish trade relations with coffee growers.

    From September 26th-October 2nd, through the Consejería Agropecuaria de México for Europe and the Agency of Marketing Services and Development of Agricultural Markets (ASERCA), were convened the purchasers in order to boost new niche markets of Mexican coffee.

    The agenda activities projects technical visits to coffee farms, meetings with the staff of Sistema Producto Café and with the companies that have organic certification. Furthermore are offered business meetings with coffee producers in Huatulco, Oaxaca and Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas.

    The foreign visitors tasted the gastronomy of the state of Oaxaca and were known the productive coffee processes, and also the topic of the organic coffee certification. 

    It is noted that this first commercial mission of high potential visits Chiapas, three coffee farms in the municipalities of Huehuetán and Tapachula , as the collecting center of Federación Indígena Ecológica de Chiapas, near to the capital of the state.

    On the other hand, ASERCA, in coordination with PROMÉXICO and with the Fideicomisos Instituidos en Relación con la Agricultura (FIRA), participated at the Rueda de Negocios Agroalimentaria 2015, that took place in September 24th and 25th at the Hotel Quinta Real in the city of Oaxaca.

    The Rueda de Negocios Agroalimentaria 2015 had the attendance of 40 international purchasers from Asia, Europe and North America, and got together with 60 Mexican agribusinesses of the agricultural sector convened by ASERCA.

    The agribusinesses of Aguascalientes, Distrito Federal, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Oaxaca, Veracruz and Zacatecas offered mezcal, tequila, charanda, rum, liqueurs, and cream liqueurs, among other products.

    The Federal Government with these actions keeps boosting several producer organizations in order to have a better trading of agricultural goods in the domestic and international areas.
