  • MEXICAN AGRIBUSINESSES REPORT SALES FOR 425 MIILION PESOS AT EXPO ALIMENTARIA PERÚ 2015


    Mexico City. September 20th, 2015.​

    • During the three days of the event were developed promotion activities from the Mexican companies, and highlighted the exhibition of their products, tastings and the development of business meetings.
    • The products exhibited were agave inulin, agave jam, mezcal, coconut butter, coconut sweetener, amaranth snacks, granola bars with agave honey, honey bee, soy milk, quinoa milk (maid with cereals), almond milk, seasoning cheeses, sugar free amaranth sweetened with agave honey, chickpea, powder chilies, dried chilies, among others.

     

    The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA) boosted the participation of Mexican producers and agribusiness men at Expo Alimentaria Perú 2015, and were reported sales for 425 million pesos in short, medium and long terms.

    With the objective of making further inroads, diversify and consolidate into the niche markets for fresh and processed products as also Mexican beverages, the Coordinación General de Asuntos Internacionales and the Agency of Marketing Services and Development of Agricultural Markets (ASERCA) backed up the agribusinesses that attended this meeting and were exhibited their products, offered tastings and made business meetings.

    This event took place by the end of August 2015 in Lima, Peru; the Mexican agribusinesses established contacts with agribusiness men of Peru, Chile and Colombia, as other countries of Latin American, Asia and Europe.

    This allowed obtaining useful information about the now-a-days situation of the international market and its consumption tendencies; moreover the market potential in medium and long terms.

    The 2015 edition of the event had the participation of 587 exhibitors, 425 from Peru and 162 from abroad, as 15 pavilions in a surface of 24 thousand square meters.

    In the Mexican Pavilion opening participated the Minister of Comercio Exterior y Turismo of Peru, Magali Silva Velarde; the Mexican Ambassador in Peru, Ernesto Campos Tenorio; the Presidente de la Asociación de Exportadores de Perú (ADEX), Eduardo Amorrortu, and the Agricultural Minister for Latin America of SAGARPA, Fernando Zuloaga Albarrán, among others.
